Raised by legendary Wisconsin sound engineer John Egan, my whole life has revolved around audio. At three my dad taught me how to thread a Nagra. At ten, while visiting the set of the Charles Bronson made-for-TV movie “Family of Cops” being filmed in Milwaukee, I got my first glimpse of the craft service table and it was in that moment that I knew I wanted to work in the film industry. That same year I began to learn the violin, a skill that would eventually lead to my immersion in the music production world.
Upon graduating from Shorewood High School in 2002, I began to assist my father and other local sound mixers as a boom operator and sound utility, learning my way around a film set and more specifically the sound department. By 2010, having accumulated enough experience and clients to venture out on my own, I began offering location audio recording services, operating as EganomicSound. Ever since then, capturing the highest quality audio possible has become nothing short of an obsession for me and I have committed my life to that pursuit.
Egan Audio Recording Services is the culmination of a lifetime of dedication to the art of sound recording and music production and I look forward to bringing that expertise and passion to your next project.

Beginnings...
Anywhere…
The ability to capture high quality audio in extreme environments and strenuous situations is an absolute necessity for any sound recordist working in the film industry. The ability to keep a level head and stay positive and productive during those moments is a much rarer skill but one that we pride ourselves on. Whether you are shooting in the middle of a cornfield or at the top of a mountain, we promise to deliver the best sound possible with a smile.
Anytime…
Do you have an overnight shoot? Do you have 27 pages of dialogue to record and only 3 hours to do it? Are there 3 company moves and we are on day 22 of a 35 day shoot and the catering person is late and we are already 2 hours behind schedule and the network is complaining that the production is overbudget? We are no stranger to the unique pressures of a film set and while our primary job is capturing the best sound, we also strive to provide both leadership and support to the rest of the crew to ensure that we stay on schedule, make something great and most importantly, not lose our fucking minds in the process.
